Zeolite
Main Uses of Zeolites
Zeolites are hydrated, porous aluminosilicates; they are categorized into natural zeolites and synthetic zeolites (molecular sieves).
1. Petrochemical Industry: Catalysts for catalytic cracking, gas drying, gas separation (oxygen/nitrogen production), and oil and gas dehydration.
2. Environmental Protection & Water Treatment: Removal of ammonia-nitrogen and heavy metal ions; filtration of sewage and drinking water; waste gas adsorption.
3. Construction Materials:
• Insulating Glass: 3A zeolite molecular sieve desiccant (the largest market related to glass; placed inside aluminum spacers to absorb moisture and prevent fogging).
• Cement admixtures, lightweight bricks, and lightweight panels.
4. Agriculture & Animal Husbandry: Soil amendment (nutrient and water retention); feed additives (adsorbing mycotoxins and deodorizing).
5. Rubber, Plastics, & Coatings: Fillers (enhancing wear resistance and adsorbing odors).
6. Household Chemicals: Detergent builders; cat litter deodorizers.
